It is that time of year again... time to say goodbye to 2016 and welcome in 2017. Many people have struggled with 2016, I can't say that I have. Don't get me wrong, I certainly have had struggling times just like anyone else but I suffered more loss and heartache in the couple of years prior than I have this year. This year I have been doing the Leonie Dawson 'Shining Life' workbooks and diary. It has been an amazing exercise to keep focus on work and life and maintain balance all year. (I must admit I pre ordered my Shining Life work books for 2017 and speeding through them already!!) In saying that, these books have helped maintain a positive attitude to life, even when at times life can really suck! so here goes, my little tribute to a wonderful 2016...

T'is the season to catch crabs!! This morning was another early start. Believe it or not I am actually on holidays at the moment. When I think of holidays I envision sleeping in until at least 8.00am every morning, relaxing around the house, and well to be quite frank, not doing too much at all. We had an early start this morning. I vaguely remember my husband getting out of bed. I think it was still dark outside. Next thing my teenage daughter came bounding in. "See ya Mum," she said, oh so chirpy for the wee hours of Wednesday morning. They were off to check the crab trap. I fell back to sleep only moments later.

What an amazing couple of days. I have been looking forward to this Christmas break for sometime now, for many reasons. My babies are getting bigger and the Christmas's they will want to hang with the family are going to start to dwindle. We have hit mid teens and a time where girlfriends and boyfriends are going to start invading our family circle. It's not a bad thing, it't just different. I have taken special care this break to enjoy every single moment with my loved ones.

It has been a crazy couple of weeks. The days seemed to have blended with the nights and my usual organised routine has flittered out the window for the past fourteen days. Boy have I noticed the lack of balance in my life. Christmas is coming close and the craziness of the silly season has approached. My family life has been a little chaotic whilst I have battled through the usual and at times unusual circumstances of daily life. I am not only a write but I am also a Naturopath.

Two weeks in a row I have have the honour of attending the book launches of some pretty amazing authors. Last Saturday the 3rd of December it was Karly Lanes turn. Karly's newest release is called 'Third Time Lucky,' is a novel based in a small country town called Christmas creek. A story of love, betrayal and ambition well worth a read this Christmas break.
