It is an amazing feeling when you come to the end of writing a novel. Beneath the Snow of Gnojnik has been an awesome adventure. Just to give you a small insight, I chose to write 'Beneath the Snow of Gnojnik' based on the lives of two very special people I have known most of my life. I come from a small town on the Mid North Coast of Australia and have lived here for the majority of my life. I went to School with this couples' grandchildren and in turn, my children have grown up around theirs. Writing this book has been an amazing journey in my writing career due to it being so different to anything I have ever written before. Research was a must!!

Wow! Who would have thought writing a book based on a true story would take so much work!! I have written a five book series called 'The Willow Tree Series.' It was fantastic to write on so many levels. It was contemporary and completely made up! The research consisted on a quick google here and a quick google there. That was about it.... Writing 'Beneath the Snow of Gnojnik' has been a totally different experience. I have interviewed people, I have been to the site of where the actual event transpired. I have visited and gathered information from the 'Frank Partridge Military Museum' as well as having the staff contact the American Armed Forces to obtain information. I have pulled some pretty late nights going through Australian Government legislation, American War history and of course World War 2 in Germany and Poland. I have studied imagery of clothes, language, food, and lifestyles of the 1940's-1960's in Australia and in Europe.

This is one of my favourite parts to the writing process. The photo-shoots. Being a self published Author, one of the perks to being the publisher is I get to design and photograph my book covers and promotional material. This is where my creative side goes berserk.
